Over the past year we have continued our efforts to improve the quality and relevance of IUA member communications. By upgrading the contact information in our membership database we have been able to deliver more targeted information to a greater number of practitioners within individual member companies. Regular face-to-face meetings have helped ensure our data is up to date and have provided valuable feedback on IUA services.
In 2017 we propose to conduct a formal member survey seeking views on what issues the IUA should prioritise. A similar exercise was last conducted in 2014 and it will therefore be useful to assess how company opinions have evolved.
Enhanced levels of media communication, reported last year, have been maintained. IUA comments on Brexit, international trade, taxation, emerging technologies and many other industry issues have featured in both trade and national publications. IUA news and reports are also now available online and via an app run by the insurance information aggregation service, Slipcase.
Our monthly member newsletter is a key publication with a comprehensive list of updates illustrating both the wide range of IUA underwriting and claims activity across different lines of business and legal and regulatory topics. It also offers easy access to developments issued by the Target Operating Model (TOM) team working on the modernisation of London Market business processes.
Recent improvements to the IUA website have included the addition of a member Brexit page and an online international sanctions database. Our complementary clauses website has also been upgraded, making it both easier to search and more integrated with our principle website. The clauses site provides free access to all London Market model clauses published by the IUA. Published clauses are grouped into three main business classes: aviation, marine and property and casualty.
